Green Clay For Skin
Green Clay for Skin
WHAT IS GREEN CLAY?
Brazilian Green Clay is a well studied ingredients that has been used for centuries in cosmetics and skincare due to its antioxidant, anti-ageing and blemish fighting benefits.
Green clay is one of the most effective and commonly found mineral clays of natural origin available and is sometimes known as kaolin. Its colour is due to the presence of iron oxide together with magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, aluminium, silicon, copper, selenium, cobalt and molybdenum.
Green Clay has a neutral pH in skincare and is a natural absorbent that literally soaks up oils and toxins found in the skin. Its mineral-rich properties help balance, purify and control excess oil production. Especially great for acne and breakout-prone skin, Green Clay will act as an antiseptic and fights edema (swelling) to soothe and heal broken skin.
SKIN BENEFITS OF GREEN CLAY
Green clay skincare is a must-have for people with oily skin and those who experience breakouts or acne.
Absorbs excess oil
Green clay is well known to attract and remove excess oiliness from the skin without dehydrating
Renews & Decongests
Green clay acts as an exfoliant to remove dry, dulling cells and reveal new, brighter skin cells
Soothing
Green clay has a calming effect on the skin and can help heal cuts and blemishes
Fights Bacteria
Naturally rich in iron oxides, green clay can help fight bacteria and prevent future breakouts. Ancient history suggests that green clay gives off a negative charge. This negative charge attaches to positive ions such as congested dead skin and oil and replaces them with minerals from the clay.
WHY WE USE GREEN CLAY
“When choosing an ingredient that could address oily and breakout-prone skin concerns, green clay was an easy choice. As a naturally derived ingredient, we chose green clay for our Purifying Mask - a clay mask that soaks up any excess oil and deeply cleanses the skin for a mattified complexion. Not only does it draw out impurities, it acts to soothe, calm and help heal breakouts on the skin. It makes a perfect weekly treatment for acne-prone or oily skin types.” - Shelley Martin, Co Founder & New Product Development Lead
GREEN CLAY SKINCARE PRODUCTS
We developed an acne mask specifically formulated to draw out impurities, balance sebum levels, reduce redness and leave skin looking clear and mattified. Together with powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and soothing ingredients, this mask is a go-to as a twice a week pamper or spot treatment for improving oily skin conditions and concerns.
Using a clay mask has previously had a bad reputation for drying out the skin, being hard to remove from skin and leaving skin feeling tight. However our Purifying Mask has been formulated so it doesn't harden or dehydrate skin.

Who Green Clay Is Best For
Use it daily for occasional spots or blemishes as a quick treatment, or weekly as part of your skincare routine in combating the overproduction of sebum, whilst reducing shine, calming and protecting.
Green Clay benefits those with sensitive skin types and those suffering from rosacea once per week.
Things To Consider Before Using Green Clay
Due to its high mineral content, green clay may irritate some. Like any ingredient or skincare product, it is best to introduce a new product into your skincare regime gradually and let your skin tell you if it can tolerate the ingredient. No research exists to deny or prove Green Clay is an allergen.
We recommend exfoliating skin before applying masks as a treatment, to ensure the mask can treat the concerns effectively.
